~ 17 figure skaters from across the country participated in the camp
New Delhi, June 28, 2022:
An advanced figure skating camp with 17 figure skaters from all over the country concluded recently at ISKATE, India’s largest all weather indoor ice skating arena located at Ambience Mall, Gurugram from 16thJune – 27th June, 2022. The figure skaters were divided in 5 categories namely, below 10 years, 10 13 years , 13-15 years,15-19 years and above 19 years. During the figure skating camp, the skaters were trained by Russian figure skating coach, Ms. Svetlana Akhmerona.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Svetlana Akhmerona, Russian coach said “There is a huge potential of figure skating in India. I can see a lot of improvement in the figure skaters from the last time I visited India. Many years ago there was no proper ice rink facility and now at ISKATE the figure skaters are getting a chance to practice the sport throughout the year. I can see a big jump in the number of children who are enrolled for ice skating lessons.”
Svetlana Akhmerona is an ex-member of the National Russian Team and has valuable experience of 20 years as a figure skating coach across various countries like South Africa, Iceland, Sweden, Indonesia and India.
Mr. Karan Rai, Business Head, ISKATE by Roseate said, “Over the years we have seen the number of figure skating athletes grow exponentially. Training from international coaches is much required for the growth of our athletes.
