Ankur Bhatia, Executive Director, Bird Group was recently honoured as the ‘Leading Entrepreneur of Travel & Tourism Industry’ by Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism, during an award ceremony held as a part of their World Tourism Day celebrations, at their campus in Noida. On receiving the honour Ankur Bhatia, Executive Director, Bird Group said, “I am extremely grateful to have received this honour. I thank Amity Institute for this gesture and their constant effort in generating a huge interest for travel and tourism, amongst their students. We at Bird Group believe that Indian travel and tourism industry has a huge potential to meet global standards of excellence. We always encourage and nurture young talent who wish to serve this industry and earnestly hope that we will be successful in our mission someday.” The felicitation ceremony was held as a part of the World Tourism Day celebrations at the Amity campus in Noida on September 23, 2011. The event was also marked by a cultural performance by the students along with plenary session on the UNWTO theme and an inter-university debate competition. Amongst others honoured during the ceremony were, Arjun Sharma, Managing Director, Le Passage to India and Anumod Sharma, Director, Great India Nautanki Company (Kingdom of Dreams).
